You’ve probably already seen the video of Cam’ron on Bill O’Reilly’s Fox News show a couple of years back. That’s because the show prompted dozens of “U Mad” memes which have been the cause of countless laughs ever since. But Killa Cam has dipped into the political arena from time to time, and he’s even breached complex topics such as the Federal Reserve in the past. Camron talked about O’Reilly with Montreality, even comparing the media personality to ousted NBA owner Donald Sterling.
“I don’t think he’s really mad at me, I think he’s mad in general,” Cam said in an interview. “And he’s like a Donald Sterling type, just mad at anything that has to do, anything that’s not what he sees as fit. Like you’re on the ‘Bill O’Reilly Show’ and he’s telling you, you know, rappers don’t dress properly because I don’t wear a suit everyday or I don’t wear shoes. When the government goes over there to get that oil from those people in Iran, Iraq, and uh, everywhere else, they don’t care that they got turbans on — y’all gonna go get that oil, you breaking bread with them, they got a billion dollars and you ain’t saying they dress inappropriately. You go over there with suits on, kiss they feet – it’s all about the money. Bill O’Reilly don’t say sh*t about that.” (Montreality)
Cam’ron’s feelings about O’Reilly are shared by many. O’Reilly has built a following by delivering shocking conservative statements about current events in the United States. O’Reilly certainly hasn’t made many friends in the black community, and his prompting black people to dress up isn’t going to help him. Fox News is about as right wing as you can get, so the comparison to Sterling might be considered flattering for O’Reilly.
