Reports of domestic violence are always serious, and it’s a good thing that more people are realizing how negative and damaging those events can actually be. That’s why it was surprising when we heard that Joe Budden had physically abused his former girlfriend. A report obtained by TMZ stated that Budden abused his former girlfriend by “slamming her head into the dashboard of a vehicle after dragging her out of a restaurant. The outlet says he drove her to his New Jersey home where he beat her again.”
Obviously, these allegations are serious and it looks like Budden will have to go through the legal system on some level. But Budden has already come out and publically denied any guilt. Budden was so candid about the matter that he event responded to fans on Twitter instead of releasing a pre written statement. Whether that was the right move or not is yet to be revealed.
Let’s hope for everyone’s sake that there was no domestic violence in this instance. Even one more case is too many, and we want our artists to do the right thing. One way or the other, we’ll figure out what went down at some point, and if Budden is in the right or the wrong.
