The state of Louisiana has been notoriously known for not giving the accused a fair trial. When it come to members of the Hip Hop community, the system has really showed their unfair practices. C-Murder, Mac, and Boosie Badazz, all Louisiana natives, claimed they’ve been a victim of a failed system. Which is one of the reasons why Boosie left his hometown of Baton Rouge behind for the more Hip Hop receptive Atlanta, Georgia.

“I had a big problem with the court systems and um, district attorneys, prosecutors; a lot of people was trying to take my life as far as, ya know, in the court systems,” Boosie said.
“I was childish, I made songs about public officials and things like that. Those people don’t forget that and I don’t trust people like that. It’s nothing for them or me to be riding down the street, they just stop and throw a gun in my car: convicted felon with a firearm.”
Corruption in law enforcement is enough for anybody to pack up and leave. However, jealousy and envy would be the additional reasons Boosie had to leave the city he had grown to love.
“Also, I had haters out there and it always like that. Where ever you’re from, you get hated the most. Most rappers die in their own city: it’s a fact.”
To support Boosie’s claim; Big L, Jam Master Jay, and Doe B are just a few rappers that was murdered in their hometown.
Later in the interview, Boosie expressed his love for Baton Rouge and will always return for a performance. However, he says he has no plans to return as a resident.
