Super Bowl LVI should be a memorable event for more reasons than one. Of course, it is the championship game between the Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals at SoFi Stadium. However, there’s other reasons such as it is the home stadium of the Rams, marking the second-consecutive and second overall Super Bowl to feature a team playing in its home stadium. Secondly, it is the Bengals first Super Bowl appearance in over 30 years. Lastly, it is the Super Bowl!!
Aside from the big game and of course, the commercials, the fans are excited about the Super Bowl halftime show. Hip Hop legend, Dr. Dre, alongside, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar, will be the headliners. This star-studded performance should be one for the ages. Admittedly, Dre thought an event like this would never see the light of day.

“I would have never thought this moment would be happening right now,” Dr. Dre says while sitting alongside Snoop Dogg during a Pepsi promo. “The fact that the NFL, Pepsi are allowing Hip Hop to come into this game — I’m so honored and so inspired to be able to come in and do this show.”
Snoop added his 2 cents by showing gratitude to Dre’s greatness, which ultimately resulted in them doing the show in the first place. “Everybody around the whole world gone get a chance to see why Dr. Dre is the greatest at what he do and how he assemble a strong team of people like us to give him backing support.”
I would like to talk about the common denominator: Dr. Dre. With the exception of Mary J. Blige, Dre can take some credit, if not all the credit, for the career launch of the three rappers that’s on the bill. Even with Mary, Dre could very well receive acknowledgment for keeping her career afloat, providing production for her 2001 hit, “Family Affair.” However, my question is regarding the rappers: career wise, who needed Dre the most?
Let’s be clear, it’s one thing to have talent. But it’s another to have someone like a Dre to help an artist put together a great body of music to put out to the masses.

Dre was more hands on with Snoop and Em in the earlier part of their careers as oppose to Kendrick. However, Dre’s name is so powerful that minimum input and a cosign could help any rapper’s career take off like a 747 jet leaving LAX.
