In the Hip Hop business, you have the rapper and the CEO. Somewhere along the line, they became the same person. Master P (No Limit Records), Rick Ross (Maybach Music Group), and Lil Wayne (Young Money Entertainment) are some of the many who have worn both hats. Nicki Minaj’s name was added to the list when she announced she launch her own label during a sit-down with Joe Budden earlier this year.
Regarding Nicki’s label, DJ Akademiks had some business advice for her that I found to be beneficial.

“I’ve always said — and this is my solution to everything,” DJ Akademiks says while dissecting a recent Twitter beef between Nicki and Latto. “Nicki should sign all the female rappers in the game. Just sign them all. Like, they all look up to you. They all just join a bad contract to sign with you like you’re the queen, right?”
Reportedly, Nicki has already broke out the pen and paper with Tate Kobang, an artist from the DMV area. However, he’s not a female.
If you look at Hip Hop in the last five years, you’ll see that female rappers have dominated the genre. Artists such as Cardi B, Megan The Stallion, and Doja Cat, among others, have been front and center of the movement. Just imagined had Nicki signed them. Are even sign someone like Kash Doll or City Girls?
If Nicki could look at the next female rapper as an ally, as opposed to a nemesis, she could be a force to be reckoned with as far as Chief-Executive Officer goes. So, I say Akademiks may have a point. What is you guy’s thoughts?
