Though the song didn’t chart, it was on everyone Christmas playlist — then and now.
Boyz II Men released “Let It Snow” the following year. Unlike TLC who detailed companionship in the snow, the four guys from Philly — with Brian McKnight — contended that the flurries providing a romantic setting for the inside.
“We got a thing here, can’t let it slip away,” Wanye sings. “Though outside it’s rain and sleet, when our bodies meet.”
The single peaked at number 32 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Needless to say, the Christmas classics from the 50s, 60s, & 70s set the bar. However, it wouldn’t be farfetched to stamp classic on “Sleigh Ride” and “Let it Snow.”
