When it comes to diss-records, BDP’s “South Bronx,” Ice Cube’s “No Vaseline,” and 2Pac’s “Hit ’em Up” are some of the tracks that raised the bar. However, there were many that were dope but either went under the radar or simply got thrown into the sea of forgetfulness. Does that apply to G-Unit’s “I Smell P***y?” Let’s talk about it.
“I Smell P***y,” a diss towards Ja Rule and Tha Inc, made it’s way to listeners via G-Unit’s 2003-album, Beg For Mercy. During a recent interview with VladTV, Tony Yayo, a G-Unit member, spoke in high regards to the diss. The topic was brought up when Vlad, on behalf of one of his premier members, asked what his favorite G-Unit diss?

“I would have to say ‘I Smell P***y’,” Yayo says. “That one right there was just like a club record that was playing in the clubs and still perform overseas–anywhere in the world. Real G-Unit fans remember that.”
Adding: “And that was the beginning to the end of finishing them guys.”
Indeed, real G-Unit fans remember that song. It contained the infamous bars:
“I smell p***y! Is that you, Irv? I smell p***y! Is that you Ja? I smell p***y! Is that you Black? I smell p***y! Is that you Tah?”
That was one hellava blow to Ja and Tha Inc. Some, including Yayo, would say it was the death-blow that ended it for them. Whether you agree or disagree, that makes for another debate. But right now, the debate is: is up there with the elite diss-records?
