Recently, a video popped up on the internet showing Pharrell Williams and Timbaland playfully going back and forth on who had the better catalog with Jay-Z. Though they were complimenting each other, I think it is legitimate debate.
I think Hov’s choice of producers has helped with his longevity. And when you look back at some of his hits, Pharrell and Timbaland’s fingerprints are all over them. I picked out three of my favorite Jay-Z songs produced by each. Let’s take a quick glance.

Pharrell Wiliams (The Neptunes) produced tracks:
“I Just Wanna Love U (Give It 2 Me)” (The Dynasty)
“Excuse Me Miss” (The Blueprint 2)
“Change Clothes” (The Black Album)
Timbaland produced tracks:
“Big Pimpin’” (Vol. 3…Life and Times of S. Carter)
“The Bounce” (The Blueprint 2)
“Dirt Off Your Shoulder” (The Black Album)
What’s ironic is that the verbal dispute was at Swizz Beatz’s birthday party. Another well-respected producer who has a great bit of hits with Hov himself.
