Maxwell was a little quicker getting his second album out, releasing Embrya a year after Urban Hang Suite.

Maxwell found himself complementing the beautiful brown-skinned sister in “Luxury: Cococure,” the album’s first single.
The album’s other single was “Matrimony: Maybe You.”
Embrya reached the number 3 and 2 spots on the US Billboard 200 and US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, respectively.
D’Angelo made us wait for awhile before he gave us Voodoo, releasing it nearly five years after his critically acclaimed debut. However, the wait was worth the wait. Like his first one, D used R&B, Jazz, Gospel, and Blues to convey his message.
The Richmond VA native gave the ladies some memorable eye candy in “Untitled (How Does It Feel),” the album’s third single.
The album’s other singles were “Devil’s Pie,” “Left & Right,” “Send It On,” and “Feel Like Makin’ Love.”
Voodoo atop both the US Billboard 200 and US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums.
In terms of quality, both Neo Soul artists provided that on their second albums. But if you had to choose, which one are you going with?
